Homeopathic Remedies
Homeopathic remedies are prepared from natural sources like plants, minerals, or animals. It is important to understand that homeopathic remedies are not simply preparations of the substance used, as in herbal products. They are prepared in a special way called potentiation, to energize and raise their healing powers.
The potentiation process involves a series of precise dilutions and succussions (vigorous shaking) of the selected substance. These natural substances are repeatedly diluted and energized until the original substance is no longer detectable. What is left is the energetic signature of the original substance. Is like a DVD, which for a scientist in the lab is just a disk made from silicon, but we know that inside there is a two hours movie that we can watch over and over again.
For example: a plant is mixed in alcohol to obtain a tincture. One drop of this tincture is mixed with 99 drops of alcohol (to achieve a ratio of 1:100) and the mixture is strongly shaken. The final bottle is labeled as "1C". Then, one drop of this 1C solution is mixed with 99 drops of alcohol and the process is repeated to make a 2C. By the time the 3C is reached, the dilution is 1 part in 1 million, and the homeopaths use 30C, 200C or 1000C! After the desired potency is reached, small globules made from sugar are then saturated with the liquid dilution.
These globules constitute the homeopathic medicine that you buy from the pharmacy. But we have to remember, the globules or the liquid which are physical in nature are just the support for the homeopathic remedies. The real remedy is inside the granule or the liquid in the form of vibration (energy).
It is the energetic nature of homeopathic remedies that stimulates the body to initiate its own healing process. Because they are energetic in nature - not physical/chemical - homeopathic remedies are remarkably free of any side effects, being among the safest preparations known to medical science.
Homeopathic medicines can be found in pharmacies as single remedies, used mostly by homeopaths, or as homeopathic-combination remedies. These combination remedies are very popular these days and a good choice for acute problems. But, they should not be prescribed for chronic disease, as this requires the supervision of a professional homeopath. Why? Because for chronic, deep problems the homeopathic remedy has to be selected according to the person individuality not the disease, otherwise the remedy will not work. Remember, homeopathy is the medicine of the individual per excellence.
